The LW8-40.5 type outdoor high voltage SF6 circuit breaker (hereinafter referred to as "circuit breaker") is a three-phase AC 50Hz outdoor high voltage electrical device. It is equipped with a CT14 type spring operating mechanism and is suitable for the control and protection of 35kV power transmission and distribution systems. This product features high breaking capacity, safety and reliability, frequent operation capability, and low maintenance requirements. It can also be used for tie breakers and capacitor bank switching applications.

Structure & Working
The circuit breaker adopts a parallel transmission method and is equipped with a CT14 spring operating mechanism. It has a three-phase separated, floor-standing tank structure with a compressed air arc extinguishing chamber. The three-phase gas is connected through copper pipes. The circuit breaker consists of outlet bushings, current transformers, arc extinguishing chamber, housing, adsorber, transmission box, linkage, chassis, and spring operating mechanism.
Arc Extinguishing Principle: The arc extinguishing principle uses SF6 gas, which has excellent arc extinguishing and insulating properties, as the arc extinguishing and insulating medium. The arc extinguishing chamber is of single compressed air structure with an axial double-blow arc principle: the circuit breaker cylinder moves relative to the stationary piston, and the SF6 gas in the cylinder is charged with SF6 gas at a pressure of 0.45 MPa gauge. During the opening process, the movable piston compresses, creating a pressure difference with the gas outside the pressure cylinder. The high-pressure SF6 gas flow generates a strong arc-blowing effect through the nozzle, forcing the arc to extinguish at the zero-crossing point.
Current Transformer: The circuit breaker can be equipped with 12 bushing-type current transformers for measurement purposes, connected to the outer casing. Each phase has two transformers installed on either side of the break, with cast aluminum housing filled with SF6 gas. The conductive rod forms the primary circuit, and the secondary circuit wires are routed through well-sealed terminal boards to the exterior. The terminal boards and the connecting wires to the mechanism box are protected by enclosures and steel pipes to prevent direct contact with the atmosphere. The current transformer ratio can be customized according to user requirements: 100~.
