The LW8-40 .5 series outdoor high-voltage sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers are outdoor-installed , three-phase AC 50Hz , rated voltage 35kV high-voltage electrical equipment that uses SF6 gas as the arc-extinguishing medium . They are primarily used for switching and breaking the rated current and fault currents , switching and breaking capacitor banks , and can be used for frequent operations in transfer circuits . Additionally, they can serve as a disconnecting circuit breaker, enabling control and protection of power transmission and distribution lines . The circuit breakers are equipped with the CTI4 spring operating mechanism . Each circuit breaker can be fitted with 6-12 sets of bushing-type current transformers .
